Continuous Discovery Habits

Discover Products that Create Customer Value and Business Value

Teresa Torres
This book does a great job in putting all the PM discovery practices into perspective. It’s more the orchestrating framework and less detailed about actual tools. For example, Chapter Eight (on ideation and dot voting) is covered in much more depth in days 2 and 3 of SPRINT by Jake Knapp; and Chapter Nine mentions story mapping for which it helps to know the work of Jeff Patton et al. It’s like in martial arts: you have to know the punches, kicks, and movements — but Teresa‘s book helps to orchestrate a nice kata from these. And turn that kata into, well, habits. We strongly recommend reading, particularly for the more experienced Product Manager who knows most of the basic tools.
